City of Portland Launches Initiative to Review Its Ferry Landing Area on Peaks Island

In September the City of Portland will begin an initiative to assess City-owned property on Peaks Island utilized to access the Casco Bay Lines ferry with the goal of identifying potential opportunities to improve the boarding experience at Peaks Island. Working in partnership with Casco Bay Lines, this will include a review of data related to Peaks Island ferry operations. The City will be considering, among other things, passenger and vehicle queuing and drop-offs, the infrastructure on Welch Street and the Welch Street parking lot.
