Casco Bay Island Transit District Public Hearing Notice
Date: Saturday, March 23, 2019
Time: 10:00 AM
Place: Aboard the Bay Mist at Peaks Island
Topic: Fleet Evaluation Project – Capacity Guidelines
Please join Casco Bay Lines at an informational public meeting to discuss capacity guidelines for the new vessel currently being designed for Peaks Island service. Representatives from Casco Bay Lines will be present on March 23 at 10:00 AM aboard the Bay Mist at Peaks Island to provide an update on the current status of the Fleet Evaluation Project. A short presentation will be made at 10:00 AM followed by an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide feedback.
The design process for the new vessel remains in the initial stages. Casco Bay Lines strongly encourages public participation at all stages. In addition to the March 23rd public meeting, and previous public meetings for the Fleet Evaluation Project, there will be future opportunities for public input prior to the Board’s consideration of a proposed vessel design. However, in light of recent questions regarding a singular aspect of the overall project, capacity, a public meeting is being held to address those questions and collect additional feedback from the public for consideration by the CBITD Board of Directors.
More information about the project can be found here. Any inquiries may be directed to the attention of Paul D. Pottle, Director of Projects for Casco Bay Lines at P.O. Box 4656 Portland, ME 04112 or (207) 560-6880 or e-mail: .
