Puffin Arrives in Casco Bay Ferry Terminal

On Wednesday, February 24th, Bernard Langlais’ Puffin was installed in the Casco Bay Lines Ferry Terminal as approved by the Board of Directors. Puffin is on loan to Casco Bay Lines from the City of Portland. Puffin was made in 1976 by Bernard Langlais and is made out of painted wood. The sculpture was generously donated to the City of Portland by Ann Wauldron, who wanted it placed where many people would be able to see it. Several other Langlais sculptures can be seen around Portland: The Standing Bear is at Ocean Gateway, Elephant and Acrobatic Dogs are the Main Library branch and Lion’s Head is at the Peaks Island Library branch. Playing Bears is at the Jetport and there are three groups of Birdhouse Heads at each of the High Schools-Portland High School, Deering High School and Casco Bay High School.  For more information on Bernard Langlais, click here.
